Description

Located centrally in Kew, Andale School is a small independent primary school for students aged 5 to 12 years who are experiencing language and learning difficulties, and who may not be able to learn effectively in a mainstream school setting. The school provides learning interventions for all enrolled students.

Teachers provide individualised learning plans, based on an understanding of student learning needs gathered through assessment and observation. Each learning plan is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.

The MultiLit program supports students through the learning of phonological awareness and literacy skills. EMU Maths is used to comprehensively assess student needs and plan for mathematics interventions.

Students and classes are supported by a Speech Pathologist, Psychologist and Occupational Therapist.

In addition to literacy and mathematics, students participate in the following classes: arts (including visual arts, drama and music), physical education, social skills, kitchen-garden, karate and yoga.
