Pay = $35,360 - $41,600 annually

ORGANIZATION
Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC) is a private, non-profit social services agency that has been offering services to family caregivers of adults with chronic and disabling conditions since 1987. SCRC is the leading provider of free caregiver support services for families caring for frail older adults and adults living with Alzheimer’s Disease or related disorders in San Diego County. With a team of highly-qualified, professional staff, SCRC supports families through a full range of programs and services such as Specialized Information, Family Consultation/Case Management Services, Respite Care, Short-term Counseling, Legal/Financial Consultation, Education and Training, Support Groups, Employer Resources and evidence-based programs such as REACH2Caregivers/CALMA.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), the Assistant to the Education & Outreach Department is a full-time, hourly position that provides high level administrative support to the Education & Outreach Department. This position works closely to increase efficiency for the department while connecting clients and visitors to the organization. Key functions include but are not limited to providing support to educational community events, assisting with outreach efforts, including social media and online platforms, conducting community presentations, maintaining and managing data collection, tracking reports, filing, office area upkeep, management and maintenance of office supply inventories, coordinating outreach efforts, providing administrative support to the department and staff needs as necessary.

This position supports and works collaboratively with the Education & Outreach Department team in managing the agency's social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) and is responsible for content development, daily monitoring & engagement, and audience growth.



Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with preparing departmental reports.
• Assist with maintaining SCRC mailing list. Input new client information in mailing list spreadsheet/database.
• Maintain office supplies for educational events and meetings.
• Provide meeting support as requested (i.e. set agenda, take minutes, print documents etc.).
• Provide support at community educational events as needed/assigned.
• Assist SCRC staff with a variety of administrative functions and projects as needed/assigned.
• Foster and maintain cooperative, professional working relationships.
• Assist with creating and distributing flyers as needed including print media.
• Maintain calendars, registration lists, data collection for logs, and list of contacts.
• Ensure that SCRC website is updated and current.
• Process data collection from classes/events for grant reporting.
• Provide support with Constant Contact, mail merges, mailings, etc.
• Offer support to maintain social media accounts (ie. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin)
• Ability to attend community meetings and present if necessary in English and Spanish.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (i.e. communications, education, gerontology, social work, public health, psychology, etc.) and 1 year experience with community education and outreach.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Understanding of diverse cultures, health disparities, and issues related to access of services.
• Ability to professionally represent SCRC to clients and the public, both over the phone and in person (including electronic correspondence and in-person etiquette).
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of client and staff information encountered in the course of work.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of computers, office equipment and software programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Publisher and Outlook. Ability to learn how to utilize additional software programs and databases as needed.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proper grammar, spelling and business writing techniques.
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, follow-through and attention to detail.
• Ability to take initiative on projects to fulfill department goals.
• Possess a good understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin.
• Good attitude - willingness to learn and take direction.
• Reliable - completes tasks by deadlines.
• High level administrative experience.
• Experience with record keeping.
• Experience in designing flyers, graphics and other marketing material for electronic and print media.
• Ability to work both as a team member and independently and exercise good judgment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle for use on the job or reliable transportation.
• Ability to consistently meet the required work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including occasional evening and weekend work as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with experience. Full-time employees have access to excellent benefits including generous paid time off, sick time and 12 paid holidays.
